Seth Rollins vs LA Knight World Championship Match is made for tonight
The fans sang Seth Rollins music and then chanted for CM Punk. Paul Heyman said he is the GOAT and the Oracle, humbled by the fact that I stand here in the presence of the future of WWE, the big dog who patrols our yard, Bron Breakker. Humbled by the fact that I stand here tonight in the same ring as the Tribal Thief, the owner of the Shoelafalla, Big Bronson Breed. CM Punk wasn’t champion long enough to even have his plates put on the title belt before Rollins took the title from him.
Rollins said shame on all of you for turning your back on me after I won the main event of WrestleMania and taunting me with chants of CM Punk and OTC. Never doubt Seth Rollins again. Roman Reigns and CM Punk are not the heavyweight champion. I am. Shame on everyone in the locker room who tried to stop me from cashing in my Money in the Bank briefcase. I always have a plan B.
This plan B was top secret. I only told two people. One was my wife and the other was my Oracle. Together, we achieved what we wanted to achieve. We have absolute power and there is nobody who can stop us. This is the past, the present, and the future. This is The Vision.
LA Knight came down and got in the ring. He told Rollins that he didn’t fake an injury to get the World Heavyweight Championship. Going into Saturday Night’s Main Event, I said I wanted your dignity and I wanted to hurt you. You faked an injury and I didn’t get to hurt you the way I wanted to. To your credit, you ate the BFT and I got the victory. I was the last one to beat you and I’m going to be the next one to beat you. There’s no better place than here and no better place than now. Rollins said no.
Adam Pearce came out. He said normally I wouldn’t make a World Championship match with no promotion, but normally a WWE Superstar’s medical team wouldn’t lie to my medical team. It will be Seth Rollins vs LA Knight for the World Heavyweight Championship tonight with Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker banned from ringside.
Backstage:
The LWO challenged The Judgment Day to a match tonight which was accepted.
AJ Styles told Dominik what he did in their match at SummerSlam was clever, but I’m still coming after your IC title, and as long as you have it, I’m coming after you. You’re going to run out of tricks and your time is running out.
Sheamus vs Rusev
Both men were counted out as Sheamus was pounding on Rusev. Officials and referees came down to break it up. Sheamus threw a few of them to the ground before Rusev hit him in the head with the ring steps. Sheamus recovered and hit Rusev with a Brogue Kick. They continued to pound away at each other. After several attempts, the officials and referees finally separated them.
Earlier today:
Grayson Waller told Adam Pearce that New Day should have a tag team title match. Pearce told Waller he has a match with Penta tonight.
Penta vs Grayson Waller
The New Day came to the announce desk and started doing commentary on the match. Penta and Waller exchanged a superkick and knee to the face before hitting each other with a clothesline. Penta hit Waller with the Mexican Destroyer to score the pinfall. After the match, The New Day hit the ring but Penta threw them out of the ring and dove over the top rope onto them.
Winner: Penta
Backstage:
Sheamus and Rusev continued their brawl.
At the announce desk:
Michael Cole said earlier today he asked Triple H and Nick Khan when it was determined that Brock Lesnar would return to WWE. They told him they reached out to him a number of weeks ago and told him it’s time for you to come home. Lesnar said let’s do it. Cole said we are going to find out what John Cena has to say about this Friday on SmackDown.
In the ring:
Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez came out and challenged Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to a rematch. Adam Pearce came out and said the match is official and it starts right now.
Women’s Tag Team Championship: Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss (c) vs Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez
Roxanne charged at Charlotte but Charlotte dumped her over the top rope. Charlotte hit a big boot to Raquel, sending her to the floor. Charlotte tagged in Bliss who hit Sister Abigail on Roxanne and pinned her.
Winners: Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss
Backstage:
After speaking in Japanese, Asuka and Kairi Sane told IYO SKY they could help her. SKY said thanks but no thanks. Rhea Ripley interrupted and asked IYO if she could talk to her. Asuka and Sane left. Ripley said I heard you went to Adam Pearce and asked for a one-on-one match with Naomi for the Women’s World Championship. I respect you as the former champion, so beat Naomi because there’s nothing that I want more than to finally beat you and win back the Women’s World Championship. IYO said you are never going to beat me.
Backstage:
Bayley tried to apologize to Lyra Valkyria. Lyra said I don’t want to hear it. I can never challenge Becky Lynch for that title again. I need to get out of this Bayley vortex. Neither one of us are champion now. I screwed things up for you. You screwed things up for me. We’re not good for each other. I’m not your friend. I’m not your enemy. Stay the hell out of my life.
Dominik Mysterio vs Dragon Lee
El Grande Americano got on the ring apron. Another El Grande Americano got on the other side of the apron Lee knocked both to the floor. With the referee distracted by this, a third El Grande Americano hit the ring apron and kicked Lee in the head. Dominik hit Lee in the head with a boot. He went for the cover, the referee turned around, and counted to three. After the match, AJ Styles ran into the ring and kicked Styles leading Dominik to leave the ring.
Winner: Dominik Mysterio
Backstage:
Sami Zayn said when Scarlett handed him the pipe last night at SummerSlam, her and Karrion Kross would have liked it if I used it, and I’m sure the crowd would have liked it if I used it. I’m not going to say that’s not who I am because I wanted to use it and pay him back for everything he’s done. It’s not about who I am, it’s about who I want to be. I want to be a world champion, and I will be a world champion. Kross is in my rear view mirror now and all eyes are on the prize.
At this point, Sheamus and Rusev fought their way into the interview area with officials trying to separate them. Zayn got in the middle to try to separate them when Rusev hit him. The officials had to hold back Zayn as the segment ended.
In the ring:
Becky Lynch said Lyra Valkyria can’t challenge for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship as long as I’m the gatekeeper. It’s time to open the floor to new competitors, but not tonight.
Nikki Bella came out. She told Becky I remember when I first met you. You had such potential. I knew it was okay to take a step back because the women’s division was in such great hands, but you turned out to be a disappointment. The same hands I left the division stabbed everyone in the back. You are supposed to be raising a generation and you are doing nothing but handcuffing them. I came back here to test myself because this is the best this division has ever been. Why did you come back? Were you that jealous of women like Lyra Valkyria or was Hollywood not what you thought it would be?
Becky said I’m in Happy Gilmore 2. You were supposed to be in it but your role got cut. I wonder why that was. It’s because my reach extends far beyond these ropes. I got you cut because there’s only room in that movie for one of us and it wasn’t going to be you.
Nikki said I’m not buying this. You are a liar just like your husband. The difference is we all bought Seth’s lies but nobody is buying your B.S. I see right through you. You are that same scared little girl who came into this division.
Becky said don’t talk about me and my hot husband. We are the greatest wrestling couple of all time. At one point that would have been you and your…oh wait…you can’t see him anymore. When I came up, I came up to combat your era, so don’t talk to me about how I handle my era.
Nikki said this isn’t your era. In my era, you were too scared to combat me. So in this era, why don’t you put up your Intercontinental Championship against me?
Becky started to talk and then sucker punched Nikki in the face and left the ring.
Backstage:
Naomi said I feel great about my win last night at SummerSlam. Next week on RAW, I will be defending my Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY. Stephanie Vaquer showed up and told Naomi whether it’s you or IYO SKY, I will beat the Women’s World Champion. Naomi said it’s going to be me, and at Clash, I’m going to take those horns and shove them so far up your behind, you’re going to be leaving Paris with a limp.
Gunther out of action indefinitely:
Michael Cole said in the Gunther vs CM Punk match at SummerSlam, Gunther hit the table hard. He suffered a septal hematoma and orbital blowout fracture which will cause him to be out of action indefinitely.
Backstage:
Natalya, with Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa confronted Becky Lynch. She told Becky we used to be friends, but what you did to Nikki Bella was wrong. Natalya challenged Becky to a match next week and Becky accepted. Natalya said I’ll see you next week. Becky said not you, her, as she pointed to Maxxine Dupri and told her I’ll see you next week.
World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) (w/Paul Heyman) vs LA Knight
Rollins and Knight were fighting outside the ring. As Rollins was getting ready to hit Knight with the Stomp, Punk jumped over the barricade and started pounding away at Rollins. Punk continued to beat up Rollins inside the ring when Knight pulled Punk off him and asked him what he was doing realizing this cost him the match. Rollins and Punk continued to fight up the ramp when Bron Breakker came out and speared Punk. Knight started punching Breakker when Bronson Reed came out. Breakker and Reed pounded on Knight. They threw Knight and Punk into the ring. Reed held Knight so Breakker can spear him. Rollins got back in the ring and hit a Stomp on Knight.
Roman Reigns music hit. He came out and hit a Superman punch on Reed and threw Breakker into the ring steps. Rollins challenged Reigns to get in the ring, and when Reigns did, Rollins left. Breakker and Reed tried to jump Reigns, but Reigns took both of them down. While Reigns was punching away on Reed, Rollins got back in and hit him with a Stomp. Rollins and Reed held Reigns and Breakker speared him. Reed then hit Reigns with two Tsunamis. Adam Pearce, officials and referees came to the ring to stop this. Reed hit another Tsunami on Reigns and once again stole his shoes to end the show.
