The show opened with Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and Jerry “The King” Lawler in the ring.
Edge kicked off the show and they showed footage from last week of Edge getting some revenge against Randy Orton. Edge talked about Mick Foley passing to torch to him and Orton but there was one lesson that Orton didn’t take and that lesson was grit…the same grit that enabled Edge to return at the Royal Rumble. Edge called Orton an entitled brat but maybe the best “to ever do this” but it was handed to him on a silver platter. Edge said this is all about jealously because Randy can’t do what he does and it tears him apart. Edge said that Beth Phoenix appeared on Raw two weeks ago to retire her husband. Edge said if Randy has the guts, he wants him at WrestleMania in a Last Man Standing Match.
They showed video from earlier today of Becky Lynch arriving in a semi-truck. The truck had Lynch’s imagery on it. Still to come is the contract signing with AJ Styles and The Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin will appear.
They aired the Men’s Royal Rumble match to kill time so this should take the show through the rest of the hour and probably into some of the second hour if they don’t cut some parts out. A smart move.
Towards the end of the second hour, Jerry “The King” Lawler introduced The Undertaker for the contract signing. Taker flipped over the furniture in the ring before they went to commercial. After the break, Styles’ music played but he didn’t walk out to the ring. He appeared on the big screen and did some trash talking while referring to Taker as Mark. The OC went down to the ring to bring the contract to Taker and that led to them getting beat up by The Deadman. Taker signed the contract and stuffed it in Karl Anderson’s mouth.
Up next…Andrade vs. Rey Mysterio. Asuka was on commentary during this match. Mysterio won with the splash off the top. They showed a video package from the Women’s Elimination Chamber match followed by post-match comments from Shayna Baszler.
After the break, Becky Lynch walked out to the ring for an in-ring promo. Shayna watched the promo on the TV in the backstage area.
After the break, they showed highlights of Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair’s segment from last week’s Raw and Flair’s attack on Ripley from last week’s NXT. Then they went to Charly Caruso interviewing Kevin Owens. KO said he knows Seth is watching and he has accepted the challenge. He said the match will happen at the PC at WrestleMania.
Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton will appear on the show next week.
Steve Austin closed out the show. He spoke about what 3:16 means. He read several cards with the declaration on what can be done on 3:16 Day. Byron Saxton was grading each declaration and Steve wasn’t thrilled but he invited Byron to the ring. Byron took a stunner, Becky Lynch walked in to celebrate with Steve while drinking beers and Byron took another stunner from Steve to close out the show.
We will post more notes throughout the show.
