We are live with ongoing WWE Money In The Bank coverage. This is WWE’s first full capacity pay-per-view since the start of the pandemic and this is also the start of the build towards SummerSlam. Kickoff Show

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
Rey & Dominik Mysterio vs. The Usos

Rey and Dominik got a special entrance with a pre-taped video showing them entering a vortex that led into the arena. Dominik and Jimmy started the match. Dominik and Rey got in the offense for the first minute of the match until Jey Uso tagged in.

Late in the match, Jimmy took a bullet for his brother as Rey hit the 619. Jey took advantage with a superkick and a splash off the top but Rey kicked out of a very close near fall as fans chanted “this is awesome.” Moments later, Jey pinned Rey with the help of his brother. New champions crowned.

This is Jimmy and Jey’s 7th time with tag team gold.

Main Card

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Asuka vs. Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki ASH vs. Liv Morgan vs. Zelina Vega vs. Natalya vs. Tamina

Bliss stood still on the middle rope as the rest of the women began fighting around the ringside area. Bliss walked under the briefcase and apparently was going to use her powers to lower the case but she was quickly attacked by Vega and the other women rotated in and out of the ring.

Morgan was the first to climb the ladder when Tamina was trying to set it up in the middle of the ring but she was quickly knocked off. Asuka tried to climb it with Tamina stuck underneath it but Tamina tried to power out as Morgan jumped on the ladder. Morgan took out Asuka but Morgan was shoved off onto the top rope by Natalya. Morgan may have been injured because she was hopping around after this piont.

Moments later, Bliss and Vega climbed the opposite sides of the ladder at the same time. Bliss used her powers to hypnotize Vega and to get her to climb back down. Natalya jumped in and she took out Bliss. There were fans booing the magic stuff from Bliss. Naomi power bombed Morgan onto Zelina, who was laid out on a ladder bridge in the corner of the ring. After taking out the rest of the women, Naomi went to climb the ladder but Natalya pulled her off and tossed her out of the ring. Natalya climbed the ladder with Vega on her back but Vega was able to grab it but then Morgan pulled her off the ladder. Nikki did a spot off a ladder that was set up at ringside. She dove off the top of the ladder and landed on all of the women who were huddled together inside the ring.

Bliss got back in the ring, she hit her version of Sister Abigail and then she climbed up the ladder but Natalya and Tamina were back in to take Bliss outside of the ring. The rest of the women joined in to bury Bliss under a bunch of ladders at ringside as the fans booed this. As this was happening, Morgan climbed the ladder but Tamina was there to stop her. Eventually, with three ladders in the ring, Morgan and Naomi scaled the middle ladder but some of the other women climbed the other 2 ladders as Bliss was still out at ringside. Nikki grabbed the briefcase.

Backstage, The Usos celebrated the SmackDown Tag Team Title win. Roman Reigns said he was happy for them. Reigns said that match was the easy part but he (Reigns) did the heavy lifting by bringing Jey back. Reigns said that he gave them what they want and they now need to give him what he wants. The segment ended with Reigns hugging both of them.

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship Match
AJ Styles and Omos vs. The Viking Raiders

Erik and Styles were going to start the match but Styles quickly tagged out and then Erik tagged in Ivar. Omos took out both of the Viking Raiders at the start of the match and then Styles tagged in but a d9uble team allowed Erik and Ivar to get the upper hand on Styles for a couple of minutes.

Late in the match, Omos did a press slam on Ivar into a pin attempt that Ivar kicked out of. Ivar and Erik worked together to double team Omos and take him out of the ring. Back in the ring, Styles took the Viking Experience but Omos got up on the ring apron and he shoved Erick into Ivar to break up the pin attempt.

Omos finally finished the match by hitting Erik with a tree slam into a pin.

Backstage interview with Drew McIntyre. He says he has to win the MITB match. He joked that we will be happy if we never hear about the ThunderDome ever again. McIntyre said the storytime for tonight is that he will become Mr. Money In The Bank.

WWE Championship Match
Bobby Lashley vs. Kofi Kingston

Kingston charged at Lashley to get the upper hand but Lashley quickly tossed Kingston up in the air and he continued the offense with strikes and shoulders in the corner of the ring. Lashley briefly rocked Lashley with a kick to the face but Lashley quickly took over with power offense and he continued the attack around the ringside area.

Back in the ring, Lashley continued to dominate the match with several of his trademark moves including the full nelson and several dominators. Kingston submitted to the Hurt Lock in a match that was dominated about 98 percent of the way by Lashley. This was basically a squash match.

WWE Raw Women’s Championship Match
Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair

At the start of the match, Flair flipped off the fans when they chanted “we want Becky.” The chants for Lynch continued throughout the match but the announcers ignored them, probably because she is backstage.

Late in the match, Ripley tried a dropkick off the top but Flair caught her and put her in the Boston Crab but Ripley countered out, Flair tried toe figure four but Ripley countered out into a pin attempt. Flair hit a big boot to the face into a pin attempt. There was a great power spot from Ripley where she basically had Flair cradled in her arms and then she muscled her up into a standing suplex.

Ripley hit Flair with several chops to the chest but Flair sent Ripley across the ring and into the corner and Ripley went over the top rope. Flair hit a moonsault from the top rope onto Ripley outside of the ring. Ripley slipped out of the Natural Selection and she put Flair in a leg submission. Flair countered into a roll up and pin attempt. Ripley tried the rip tide but Flair countered into a DDT and a close near fall.

Flair hit chops and a back elbow and then went to pin Ripley but the referee saw Flair’s up on the ropes. Ripley rocked Flair with a kick to the face and shoulders into the stomach. Ripley tried a move off the top but Flair shoved her off and Flair hit the Natural Selection off the top but Ripley kicked out of the pin attempt. Flair shoved Ripley’s head into the ring post and then she kicked Ripley’s left knee several times into the stairs. Flair then locked in the figure eight and that was enough for Ripley to tap out.

There was a backstage segment with Matt Riddle, Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura. There were streaming issues for this so there was no way to know hat was being said.

Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Ricochet vs. Matt Riddle vs. John Morrison vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Big E vs. Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Rollins was the first to try to climb the ladder but he was taken out. Morrison did a spinning dive onto Rollins from one of the ladders in the corner. Morrison tried to grab the ladder but Nakamura met him at the top and Nakamura applied an armbar on Morrison at the top of the ladder.

Morrison and Rollins worked together to take out the other wrestlers in the match. There was a rough looking spot with Owens being driven back first by Morrison and Rollins into a ladder in the ring. Morrison did a rotating elbow off the top onto McIntyre, who was positioned on a ladder but it looked like Morrison didn’t hit the move like he wanted. Rollins was taken out of the match but an RKO from Riddle. McIntyre took everyone out with a dive over the top rope onto wrestlers at ringside.

McIntyre hit Rollins with the Claymore. McIntyre tried to climb the ladder but Veer and Shanky attacked him and Mahal attacked McIntyre on the aisleway with chair shots. Veer and Shanky dragged McIntyre to the back. Back in the ring, Riddle was climbing the ladder but Ricochet did a springboard off the top and landed on the ladder to stop Riddle. Then Ricochet leaped onto the top rope and then springboarded onto the rest of the wrestlers at ringside.

Ricochet and Riddle battled on the ladder but Big E took Riddle off on his shoulders and Riddle countered into a RKO. He also hit Ricochet with the RKO but Rollins hit Riddle with the stomp. Nakamura put Rollins to sleep with the GTS. Nakamura tried to climb the ladder but Morrison squirted him with the drip stick. KO pulled Morrison off the ladder and he hit the stunner on him and on Nakamura. KO also hit Ricochet with the pop up powerbomb. KO climbed the ladder but Rollins caught up to him and powerbombed him through a ladder bridge that was setup at ringside. It looked painful.

Rollins went to grab the briefcase but Big E climbed the second ladder and hit the Big Ending off the ladder. Big E climbed up and grabbed the briefcase to win the match.

They showed Rollins backstage in pain. He said that what he did was not good enough because it’s his destiny to be champion and he was robbed because he should have never been in the match to begin with after Edge stole that from him. Rollins said whoever wins the Universal Title match tonight, he will make sure that he’s next in line.

WWE Universal Championship Match
Roman Reigns vs. Edge

Edge and Reigns stood face to face in the ring before the match got started and there was a split “let’s go Roman/let’s go Edge” chant. After a lock-up, Edge slapped Reigns in the face. Reigns eventually hit a shoulder block and then he took over on offense for several minutes, including a very long chokehold.

Edge broke free of the chokehold but Reigns stopped his rally with an uppercut to the jaw. Reigns followed up with the drive by as Edge was draped over the bottom rope. Reigns went for the Superman punch but Edge countered with a backslide. Reigns kicked out and then both men knocked each other out with a big boot at the same time.

They traded blows in the center of the ring and then Edge got a near fall after hitting the Edge drop. Reigns went for a spear but Edge hit a flapjack and the Edgecution into a near fall. Edge set up Reigns on the top rope and then rammed his head onto the top of the ring post. Edge then stopped Reigns in the corner and then he locked Reigns into a crossface submission but Reigns was able to grab the bottom rope to break the hold.

Reigns turned things around when he locked Edge in the guillotine choke. Edge drove Reigns and himself through the ropes to break up the hold. Reigns went for a spear but Edge moved and Reigns crashed through the barricade. Edge stopped the referee from counting so he could run out to spear Reigns through another barricade. Edge carried Reigns back in the ring and then went for the pin attempt but Reigns was able to get his arm up.

Reigns hit the Superman punch but Edge was driven into referee Charles Robinson’s knee. With the referee still out of it, Reigns grabbed the steel bar off a chair and he tried to wrap it around Edge’s mouth but Edge fought out of it and nailed Reigns with a flurry of headbutts. Edge then locked in the hold with the bar around Reigns’ mouth but there was no referee available. The Uso went out to the ring but Rey and Dominik were out to take them out of the ringside area. Seth Rollins ran in the ring and superkicked Edge in the head and that broke the hold.

Reigns went for the spear but Edge caught him with his spear.  A second referee ran in to make the count but Reigns kicked out. Rollins was back and Edge took him out with the boot. The distraction allowed Reigns to hit the spear and the pin to retain the title.

Rollins continued the attack on Edge after the match and then Rollins and Reigns stood face to face. Edge got back up and he and Rollins brawled through the crowd. Reigns grabbed the microphone and said the whole world can acknowlege him.

John Cena’s music played and walked out to a huge pop. He stood in the ring and looked at Reigns and then the show ended as Cena posed on the middle turnbuckle. This is the main event for SummerSlam.
