Titus O’Neil’s in-ring career appears to be officially over. WWE has removed O’Neil from the active roster page on its website and moved his profile to the WWE Alumni section. WWE has not made a formal announcement about O’Neil’s in-ring status, and he has not commented publicly on the change.
O’Neil has not wrestled since November 9, 2020, when he challenged Bobby Lashley for the United States Championship on Raw and lost. That match came a few weeks after O’Neil tried to join MVP’s Hurt Business and was rejected and attacked. Earlier that year, he opened a Last Chance Gauntlet match on Raw for a spot in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, and was eliminated by Lashley.
He has continued working for WWE as a Global Ambassador, a role centered on the company’s community and charitable efforts, and he has made occasional on-screen appearances in that capacity, including co-hosting WrestleMania 37 alongside Hulk Hogan in 2021.
O’Neil, whose real name is Thaddeus Bullard, played college football at the University of Florida and in the Arena Football League before signing with WWE in 2009. He started in Florida Championship Wrestling, where he won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship with Damien Sandow before the pair lost it to Seth Rollins and Richie Steamboat in 2011.
He competed on the second season of NXT in 2010 with Zack Ryder as his mentor, and was the first contestant eliminated. He returned the following year for NXT Redemption, mentored by Hornswoggle, and won the season premiere main event against Lucky Cannon.
O’Neil reached the main roster in 2012 alongside Darren Young as The Prime Time Players, debuting on SmackDown with a win over The Usos. They opened with a winning streak that ran until the reigning tag team champions, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth, beat them the following month. The pair won the WWE Tag Team Championship from The New Day at Money in the Bank in 2015, holding it until The New Day took it back at SummerSlam that August.
A month after competing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 35, where he eliminated Heath Slater before Mustafa Ali eliminated him, he became the first-ever 24/7 Champion on the May 20, 2019 episode of Raw, in a reign that lasted less than a minute before Roode pinned him. O’Neil also led the Titus Worldwide group with Apollo Crews, Dana Brooke and Akira Tozawa, and he is widely remembered for slipping under the ring during his entrance at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia in 2018, a moment fans nicknamed the “Titus Worldslide.”
His work outside the ring has defined the second half of his WWE career. He received the Warrior Award as part of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2020, recognizing his philanthropic work, including through the Bullard Family Foundation, which provides programs and resources for children and families in need. He has also been inducted into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame, was honored as a Community Hero by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2017, and supports the Special Olympics and Pop Warner Football. He published a book in 2019, There’s No Such Thing as a Bad Kid: How I Went from Stereotype to Prototype.
