As we noted last week, Paul Ellering shot down rumors on why he was pulled as the manager for The Authors Of Pain. Someone started a rumor claiming that he didn’t like to travel but that is not the case. Basically, Vince McMahon is not a fan of managers and the decision was made that Ellering would not remain a part of the group.
However, Ellering will remain with WWE. As reported by PWInsider, Ellering will still work in NXT and he will work to groom the young talent for the main roster. It’s not clear if he will get a new role on TV or if he will work exclusively in a backstage capacity.
As for The Authors Of Pain, Vince McMahon is said to be a fan of them so don’t expect them to be pushed down the card like they did with The Revival. My guess is that AOP will be in the mix for a tag team title program in a few months, likely against Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt.
On Twitter, Ellering is already hinting at managing another tag team.
