WWE News On Rumored Name For The Hall Of Fame

WWE has begun announcing names for the Hall of Fame ceremony. The biggest name is Paul Heyman as Philadelphia is the home of ECW. Heyman will be the first name announced under the Triple H era.

The US Express (Mike Rotunda & Barry Windham) and Bull Nakano have already been confirmed for it. More names will be confirmed in the coming weeks. The ceremony takes place following SmackDown on April 5th at the Wells Fargo Center on WrestleMania weekend.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select that he heard Lia Mavia could be a possible inductee into this year’s class. This is NOT confirmed, but it would line up with a report by Fightful that The Rock has input into this year’s class. One source indicated that it would be evident if the planned inductees were revealed as scheduled.

Lai was the wife of “High Chief” Peter Maivia and the grandmother of The Rock. She took over Polynesian Pro Wrestling (PPW), a territory of the NWA in Hawaii, in 1982 after the tragic passing of her husband, where she became one of the first female wrestling promoters.

The biggest show in the promotion’s history was in 1985 where they drew a crowd of 20,000 fans. The promotion closed three years later. She passed away in 2008.
