It has been confirmed by Dave Meltzer that Carlito is backstage for tonight’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Meltzer also noted that Jinder Mahal and Christian are backstage.
Christian is likely there because of Edge, who is returning tonight in the Men’s Rumble match. Randy Orton will start the match as the first entrant and Edge will enter in the number 2 spot.
It’s not clear if Mahal will be competing in the Men’s Rumble but he recently returned to action as part of the Superstar Spectacle tapings for India. Carlito is expected to be in the Men’s Rumble and there’s been talk of him getting a tryout at Raw as a Producer. He was advertised to return a few weeks ago as part of the Raw Legends Night show but he did not appear.
WrestlingNews.co exclusively reported earlier that Seth Rollins is backstage. Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Rollins’ fiancee, Becky Lynch, is expected back soon but her return is not likely for tonight’s pay-per-view.
