WWE Night Of Champions Appears To Be Moving Ahead As Planned In Saudi Arabia

WWE’s Night of Champions premium live event is still scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia this coming week. The questions about the show’s status have arisen due to recent United States strikes in Iran and the subsequent threat to American targets in the region.

There has been no official announcement from WWE about moving or canceling this week’s SmackDown and Night of Champions events from Saudi Arabia. PWInsider notes that when numerous WWE officials were asked about the status of the shows, they offered no comment.

All internal logistics for the trip appear to be moving forward as planned. WWE staff and talent are slated to begin their travel to Riyadh on Wednesday. If a decision were to be made to move or postpone the shows, it would have to be done very soon given the travel schedule.

Furthermore, the on-the-ground preparations for the event are continuing without interruption. WWE staff who were already on hand in Riyadh have not stopped their pre-production work and set up for the show.

As of this writing, the wrestlers themselves have not been advised of any changes to the event. All current indications are that Night of Champions will proceed as originally announced from Saudi Arabia this Saturday.
