Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton in the King of the Ring finals took place at the WWE Night of Champions Premium Live Event from the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
They went back and forth before Orton hit a superplex, but immediately sold it. Rhodes was more aggressive than usual and targeted the back of Orton. Orton fired back with a series of strikes and a powerslam. He could barely go for a cover and that costed him time. Cody with a cutter for 2 before following up with a spring board cutter for another near fall. Cody reversed an RKO attempt with the cross rhodes for 2. Rhodes sold the effects and Orton hit an RKO out of nowhere. Orton considered punting Cody and went for it, but Cody avoided it. Cody with a take down and locked in the figure four. They traded shots with the fans being behind Orton. Cody with the Cody kick, but Orton reversed with an RKO, but Cody kicked out again. Cody put him away with the cross rhodes after sending Orton into an exposed turnbuckle for the win.
Winner: Cody Rhodes
Post-match, Rhodes put over Orton and promised that at SummerSlam he would get his championship back.
