WWE No Mercy results: The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Championship)

At the WWE No Mercy event, Dolph Ziggler put up his career for one more chance at The Miz’ Intercontinental title. It looks like Dolph Ziggler’s WWE career will continue because he was able to fight off interference from Maryse and the Sprit Squad as he defeated The Miz with the superkick.

We first reported on Sunday morning that WWE may have spilled the beans on the outcome of this match when they sent out a preview to the cable companies referencing Ziggler’s exit from WWE. It looks like that might have been a smokescreen put out by them or plans changed. Ric Flair also noted on his podcast that he heard rumors about Ziggler leaving.

Ziggler (real name Nick Nemeth) began his WWE career in 2004 when he was signed to WWE’s developmental system. He was moved up to the Raw brand a year later as Kerwin White’s (Chavo Guerrero) caddie/sidekick. WWE dropped the Kerwin White character and Ziggler was sent back down to Ohio Valley Wrestling. He would later be brought up and repackaged as part of the Spirit Squad. Ziggler is a 2-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, 1-time United States Champion and a former World Tag Team Champion as part of the Spirit Squad. He is now a 5-time Intercontinental Champion.
