A new report from PWInsiderElite.com has debunked online rumors suggesting that WWE NXT was planning to hold a television taping at the historic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. The venue is famously known to wrestling fans as the original ECW Arena.
The rumor claimed that NXT would tape a show in the legendary building ahead of an upcoming residency by rival promotion AEW. However, after speaking with the arena’s management, PWInsiderElite confirmed that there is currently no WWE or NXT event scheduled for the building.
According to the report, the 2300 Arena management is looking forward to hosting AEW for the first time and welcoming Ring of Honor back under its roof. They also noted the significance of AEW President Tony Khan returning to run his own company in the same venue where he attended ECW shows as a fan in the 1990s.
While NXT has been taking its weekly show on the road more frequently in 2025, a stop at the legendary Philadelphia arena is reportedly not in the company’s immediate plans.
