Once it was reported that WWE was planning to use NXT and developmental talent as “fans” in attendance for their weekly television programs – Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown – there were questions as to whether NXT will get the same.
Up until this point, there wasn’t any word as to what WWE had planned. However, late Tuesday night, Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that some Performance Center talent was notified that they’ll be used for the audience at NXT on Wednesday.
With this, there also came some slight changes compared to what WWE did on Monday and Tuesday for the TV tapings that taped upcoming episodes of Raw, SmackDown, 205 Live, and Main Event.
The talent being used as fans for NXT this week are on-call times throughout the day. They also aren’t required to stay there throughout the day, as they can leave and return.
Talent who worked the main roster tapings had to stay there all day, which reportedly turned into being a long day of trying to keep energy while standing and only having short breaks throughout the tapings.
As of this writing, there’s no word yet on whether having “fans” in attendance is planned for the NXT TakeOver: In Your House special, but it’s likely. Check out the lineup for Wednesday’s NXT show here.
