Je’Von Evans vs Josh Briggs

Briggs gave Evans a big clothesline. He went for the cover but Evans got his foot on the ropes. Evans began punching and slapping Briggs and hit him with a flying kick to his face. Briggs came off the middle ropes with a springboard but got kicked in the stomach. Briggs got Evans up for a chokeslam but Evans turned it into a cutter. Evans then came off the top rope with a flying cutter on Briggs and pinned him.

Winner: Je’Von Evans

They aired footage from TNA Victory Road last night when Kelani Jordan won the vacant TNA Knockouts Championship in a victory over Lei Ying Lee with special guest referee Indi Hartwell.

Kelani said she is representing NXT and TNA and will continue to turn her dreams into gold.

It was announced that Lainey Reid suffered an injury over the last few days and is not medically cleared to compete in her match tonight against Sol Ruka.

WWE Women’s Speed Championship Match: Sol Ruka (c) (w/ Zaria) vs Jaida Parker

Ruka and Parker traded punches in the middle of the ring. Parker gave Ruka a Samoan Drop. Ruka pulled Parker out of the ring and slammed her head on the ring steps. Ruka missed a moonsault of the ring steps. Parker hit Ruka with the Hipnotic and tossed her back in the ring. After tossing Ruka back in the ring, Parker argued with Zaria and pie-faced her. Lash Legend showed up to confront Parker. Parker ducked a clothesline by Legend and Legend got hit by a spear from Zaria. As Parker was getting back in the ring, she got hit with the Sol Snatcher by Ruka and was pinned. Ruka remains champion.

Weaponized Steel Cage Match: Jordynne Grace vs Blake Monroe

It was pointed out that Grace suffered an injury to her right hand and may have a broken bone in her thumb, but is cleared to compete. Monroe tied Grace’s hands to the cage with a hair dryer and cut off some of her hair. Grace broke free and began pounding away at Monroe.

Monroe dumped a bagful of diamonds on the mat but it was Grace who managed to suplex her on them. Grace blocked a powerbomb off the top rope, gave Monroe an Air Raid Crash through a table, and pinned her.

Winner: Jordynne Grace

Ava announces Invasion:

Ava said in the last couple weeks, the relationship between NXT and TNA has become fractured. Following the chaos that ensued after the title for title match between Oba Femi and Trick Williams last week on NXT, she met with Santino to come up with a solution. On October 7th on CW, NXT and TNA will bring an event called Invasion. NXT and TNA will compete in two Survivor Series style matches, one for the men, and one for the women.  Also, NXT Tag Team Champions, Dark State, will face TNA Tag Team Champions, The Hardy Boyz, title for title, winner take all match, with everybody barred from ringside.

 

Lash Legend was on the entrance ramp. She said it was worth getting speared by Zaria because it cost Jaida Parker the match. Legend said she should lead the NXT team against TNA. Parker attacked Legend from behind. The two were quickly broken up by security.

Backstage:

Lainey Reid came out wearing a boot on her foot/leg. She said tonight was supposed to be the night she was going to win the WWE Women’s Speed Championship, but she got injured and was pulled from the match. She promised that as soon as she’s cleared, the Speed title will be hers. Lola Vice showed up and told her she’s sorry what happened to her but her moment will come. Reid said she hopes Vice still feels like that after she loses tonight because there’s no way she’s beating Jacy Jayne for the title. Vice told her to watch her mouth otherwise her injured leg will become broken.

NXT North American Championship Match: Ethan Page (c) Tavion Heights

Page hit a backbreaker off the top rope that sent Heights tumbling to the outside. Once they got back in the ring, Heights fired up with some punches and slams, and even locked in an ankle hold—but Page managed to escape. Then Page hit a dive from the middle rope and followed it up with his finisher to get the win.

After the match, AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo de Dr Wagner Jr showed up in a pre-recorded video. He said he’s keeping an eye on Page’s title and plans to face him soon.

Backstage:

Myles Borne said it felt good to beat Lexis King and put him in his rear view mirror. He said he is now looking forward and is willing to be the NXT captain against TNA.

Mike Santana on social media said Trick Williams has a big problem, but NXT has an even bigger problem. The TNA title is being held hostage, but he’s going to bring it back home. On Tuesday, he’s coming to NXT and he’s not coming alone.

NXT Women’s Championship Match: Jacy Jayne (c) (w/ Fallon Henley) vs Lola Vice

Lola Vice’s family were in attendance in the first row. Vice hit Jayne with a spinning kick. As she went for the cover, Henley pulled the referee out of the ring. As a result of this, the referee threw Henley out of the ringside area. Vice got Jayne in the choke but Vice managed to escape. Jayne then escaped a guillotine. Vice hit Jayne with a series of kicks. Vice climbed to the second rope but Jayne caught her with a belly to back suplex followed by a knee to the face for a two-count. Jayne brought in the title belt but the referee stopped her from using it. Vice hit Jayne with a back fist but the momentum sent her out of the ring. Somebody dressed in black wearing a mask showed up and kicked Vice in the head. Vice managed to make it back in the ring but Jayne hit her with the Rolling Encore and pinned her to retain the championship.

Winner and still NXT Women’s Champion: Jacy Jayne

Moose on social media said he’ll be at NXT this Tuesday with TNA and will be causing even more chaos.

NXT Championship Match: Oba Femi (c) vs Ricky Saints

Femi and Saints were fighting outside the ring. Saints blocked a Fall from Grace on the announce table and gave him a DDT. He followed it up with a Tornado DDT. They got back into the ring. Femi hit Saints with the Fall from Grace and got a two-count. Femi went for another one but Saints countered with a DDT. Saints then hit him with a Tornado DDT and pinned him to win the championship.

Winner and new NXT Champion: Ricky Saints
