Josh Briggs – Ricky Saints confrontation
Ricky Saints called out Oba Femi. Josh Briggs came out. He said he’s tired of outsiders like Inamura and himself. As they were getting ready to fight, Ava came out. She said nobody has heard from Je’Von Evans following his loss at Heatwave. Because of that, I have to find a new number one contender for the NXT Championship. You both have impressive wins behind you, so tonight you two can fight each other and the winner will face Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at No Mercy.
Interview from Heatwave:
Blake Monroe told Ava that it’s time she becomes the NXT Women’s Champion. Kelani Jordan interrupted her and told her it’s taken her two years to get that opportunity, so go to the back of the line. Ava told them they can face each other on Tuesday on NXT.
Blake Monroe vs Kelani Jordan
Jordan and Monroe were fighting outside the ring. Monroe looked like she wanted to walk out. Jordynne Grace came out and chased Monroe towards the back. Grace told her to finish the match and chased her back to the ring. Monroe got back in the ring but was still arguing with Grace. Jordan came from behind and suplexed Monroe. Jordan then pinned her after delivering the split-legged moonsault.
Winner: Kelani Jordan
Myles Borne was asked how his eyesight was. He said my eyesight is still a little blurry but it doesn’t matter because his match with Lexis King is a blindfold match. He then asked the people to let him know when he gets close to King while they are fighting.
Blindfold Match: Myles Borne vs Lexis King
King accidentally poked the referee in the eyes as he was trying to separate Borne and King in the corner. King lifted his hood and gave Borne a low blow. He put his hood back on and gave Borne a neck breaker. The referee recovered and counted the pin.
Winner: Lexis King
Backstage:
Wren Sinclair was nervous backstage as she didn’t have a partner for her match against Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley. Charlie Dempsey told her not to worry because I brought in Kendal Gray to be your partner. She impressed me last week and she told me she is willing to listen to a true pro. Kendal said I never said that but I will help Wren, and then slapped Dempsey.
Wren Sinclair & Kendal Gray vs The Culling (Izzi Dame & Tatum Paxley) (w/Shawn Spears & Niko Vance)
Sinclair gave Paxley a double arm suplex. As Paxley was getting ready to do a move from the second rope, Dame tagged herself in. Sinclair rolled up Dame and Paxley broke up the pin attempt. Gray caught Paxley in an armbar but they weren’t the legal women in the ring. Dame kicked Sinclair and hit her with a pop-up powerbomb to pin her.
Winners: Izzi Dame & Tatum Paxley
#1 Contender’s Match for the NXT Championship: Ricky Saints vs Josh Briggs
They exchanged punches and elbows in the middle of the ring. Briggs charged at Saints with a kick into the corner and missed. Saints connected with a tornado DDT to win the match.
Winner: Ricky Saints
Backstage:
Sol Ruka, Zaria, and Lola Vice were getting ready for their match. Jaida Parker came in and gave Vice her props for winning at Heatwave. Lash Legend came in and told Parker that taking all those losses must have humbled her. Parker told Legend that Nia Jax whooped your ass and you’re still not humbled.Â
Oba Femi – Ricky Saints face to face
Saints told Femi that I will defeat you for the NXT Championship at No Mercy. Femi said I see fear in your eyes. At No Mercy, I’m going to show you that you’re not special because when you stand next to me, you become an ordinary man. Darkstate came out and attacked Femi and Saints. Hank and Tank came out to even the odds as they cleared the ring of Darkstate.
Backstage:
Ava again announced that the Speed titles are coming to NXT. Beginning on September 2nd, there will be a tournament to decide the next challenger to Sol Ruka’s Speed Championship which will include Candice LeRae, Lainey Reed, Faby Apache, and Xia Brookside. The winner will face Sol Ruka for the title at No Mercy.
Tyra Mae Steele (w/Tavion Heights) vs Alba Fyre (w/Chelsea Green, Ethan Page, and Piper Niven)
Steele had Fyre in the ankle lock. Page tried to pull Fyre to the bottom rope to break the hold. Steele stepped on Page’s hand. Steele blocked a kick by Fyre, rolled her up, and pinned her. Green attacked Steele from behind and threw her out of the ring. Heights came in to confront Green. Green went to slap him, but Height blocked it. Page attacked Heights from behind with the North American Championship and gave him the Twisted Bridge. He then draped the Canadian flag on him as Fyre held Steele outside the ring and forced her to watch.
Winner: Tyra Mae Steele
Backstage:
Hank and Tank told Ava they wanted their title rematch with Darkstate. Ava said Dark State already came in here and asked for an 8-man tag team match against you, Oba Femi and Ricky Starks. After that match, we can talk about a tag team title rematch.
Backstage:
Jacy Jayne said Ash stole the TNA Knockouts Championship from me, but she can’t take away the fact that I made history by holding the TNA Knockouts Championship and the NXT Women’s Championship at the same time. Jazmyn Nyx said she plans on winning the Speed title. Jacy told her if anybody is going to get that Speed championship, it’s Fallon Henley.
Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazmyn Nyx) vs Sol Ruka, Zaria, and Lola Vice
Fallon and Jayne charged at Vice with a kick from the front and back of her head. Jayne threw Vice out of the ring. Ruka pulled Jayne out of the ring and Zaria hit her with a spear. Vice pushed Henley into Nyx. Ruka hit Nyx with the Soul Snatcher. Vice hit Henley with a backfist and pinned her.
Winners: Sol Ruka, Zaria, and Lola Vice.
