NXT Women’s Match made for NXT Gold Rush

NXT opened with Tatum Paxley coming to the ring with The Culling. She said if she still wants to be NXT Women’s Champion, she has to start listening to her friends. Tatum thanked Izzi Dame for forgiving her. Izzi said the Culling only wants the best for Tatum, but she has to stop making irrational decisions and giving everybody a title opportunity. Tatum agreed, but she loves giving the other women in the locker room a chance. Izzi said the more times you do that, the more likely you are to lose the title.

Fatal Influence came out. Jacy Jayne told Tatum that she needs to be a fighting champion and give her a rematch to prove her win wasn’t a fluke. Izzi told Jacy that Tatum is not falling for this. Izzi told Tatum she needs to think about how she will be remembered as a champion and needs to give her a title match. Tatum said she has to be more selective on who she gives a title match to, so she’s granting Jacy her rematch at NXT Gold Rush next Tuesday.

Backstage:

  • Jackson Drake thanked Ava for allowing him to defend the Evolve championship. Ava said he will defend the title against Sean Legacy.
  • Ethan Page, Chelsea Green, and Alba Fyre entered. Ava told Alba she has a match tonight.

WWE Men’s Speed Championship: El Grande Americano (Champion) (w/ Bravo & Rayo) vs. Jasper Troy

El Grande hit Jasper with a flying headbutt. He then pulled out the metal plate. The ref saw him doing this and El Grande accidentally dropped it. Troy then gave El Grand the Black Hole Slam and pinned him.

Winner and new WWE Speed Champion: Jasper Troy

Backstage:

Thea Hail and Joe Hendry both agreed that they will become the new AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions at NXT Gold Rush.

Backstage:

  • Sean Legacy thanked Ava for giving him the match against Jackson Drake for the Evolve Championship at NXT Gold Rush.
  • Sol Ruca and Zaria entered. Ruca told Ava she is cleared to wrestle. Ava said while that’s true, it’s as tolerated. Ruka said she wants her rematch for the NXT Women’s North American Championship next week. Ava agreed to it as long as she realizes the risk.

Thea Hail (w/ Joe Hendry) vs Alba Fyre (w/ Chelsea Green and Ethan Page)

Thea got on the top turnbuckle. Chelsea got on the ring apron which distracted her. Alba caught Thea in the Kimura. Page got on the ring apron. Thea escaped the Kimura. Hendry slammed Page face first into the ring post. Chelsea went to slap Hendry. Hendry ducked and the slap hit Page. Thea dove through the ropes onto Chelsea. She got back in the ring and was met with a superkick by Alba for a near fall. Thea then caught her with a sunset flip and pinned her.

Winner: Thea Hail

Backstage:

As Ricky Saints ribs were being taped up, Tatum Paxley told him she is struggling with deciding on who gets title opportunities. Saints told her to be the kind of champion she wants to be and don’t let anybody tell her anything different. The Culling entered and told her to leave. Tatum tried to tell Ricky something he needs to know, but they pulled her out of there before she could tell him.

Backstage:

Blake Monroe had a conversation with her conscience. Her alter ego told her she won’t be the real champion until she beats Sol Ruka at Gold Rush. She needs to break Ruca. Blake said they won’t like that. Her conscience said you loved to be adored but you hate what you have to do to stay adored. They need to be together because the Glamour needs to be seen and the woman from hell to be remembered. The spotlight needs darkness, and together, we make one perfect champion.

Backstage:

Jordynne Grace said held the TNA Knockouts Championship on three occasions. In two weeks, she take the title from Kelani Jordan at NXT Gold Rush. Unfortunately, Lei Ying Lee will be collateral damage.

In the ring, Je’Von Evan said he is excited but nervous about his upcoming match against Gunther in the Last Time Is Now tournament next week on Raw. He brought Leon Slater on the video screen. He said he talked to Ava and Leon talked to Santino Marella. They will face Dark State next week at NXT Gold Rush.

Dark State showed up in the stands. They told Evans they will defeat Evans and Slater. Dark State entered the ring, but Slater jumped in the ring to help Evans as the video was taped before hand.

Backstage:

Kelani Jordan told Trick Williams he was right in that it is lonely at the top and the only person you should worry about is yourself.

WWE Women’s Speed Title Tournament First Round Match: Skylar Raye vs. Fallon Henley (w/ Jacy Jayne & Lainey Reid)

Fallon dropped Raye head first into the canvas. She followed it up with the Rocker Dropper and pinned her.

Winner: Fallon Henley

Outside the arena:

Jasper Troy said he will defeat anybody when he defends his WWE Speed Championship.

Dark State came outside and said they will defeat Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater at NXT Gold Rush.

Backstage:

Lainey Reid told Jacy Jayne she is going to win the NXT Women’s Championship, Fallon Henley will win the Speed Championship, and she knows now what she needs to do.

Tavion Heights vs Josh Briggs

Heights gave Briggs an overhead suplex. He followed it up with clotheslines and a sling blade. Briggs kicked Briggs twice in the face. He went for another one and missed. Heights finished Briggs by giving him a belly-to-belly suplex and pinned him.

Winner: Tavion Heights

Backstage:

Ava told Myles Borne that she can’t have him out there during the Trick Williams-Ricky Saints match tonight. Borne said a receipt is coming on Trick. Ava said she knows, but she can’t have him interfering in the match.

Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey entered the room. Lainey Reid approached Grey and slapped her in the face. This broke down into a brawl until officials broke them up.

Last Man Standing Match for the NXT Championship: Ricky Saints (Champion) vs Trick Williams

Williams hit Saints in the head with the ring steps but Saint got up by the count of 10. He followed it up with the Trick Shot and gave him a book end on the ring steps. He put the steps on Saint’s neck and stepped on top of them. Saints escaped, charged at Williams, but Williams threw him through the wall. Saints came back and they brawled into the stands. Williams hit Saints with a knee to the jaw. Saints speared Williams from over the barricade through the announce desk and Williams was unable to get up by the count of 10.After the match, Alba Femi appeared in the entrance way as the show went off the air.
