WWE has changed the ring name of NXT’s Raul Mendoza. On Tuesday’s episode of NXT 2.0, he started going by the name "Cruz Del Toro." WWE’s website also has been updated to reflect the name change.
He is part of the Legado del Fantasma group alongside Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, and Elektra Lopez where they’ve found success as champions. Mendoza made his WWE debut by working the Cruiserweight Classic in 2016 where he lost to Brian Kendrick in the first round before signing with WWE in 2017.
This week’s show saw Del Toro & Wilde take part in a five-team gauntlet match to crown new NXT Tag Team Champions along with Grayson Waller & Sanga, The Creed Brothers, Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen, and Pretty Deadly.
The Creed Brothers defeated Del Toro & Wilde in the opening portion of the match, which was eventually won by Pretty Deadly.
This comes after WWE changed the names of Marcel Barthel and Raquel Gonzalez when they both debuted on SmackDown last Friday as Gonzalez is known as Raquel Rodriguez while Barthel goes by Ludwig Kaiser.
