WWE NXT star injured in “freak accident” and will need surgery

WWE NXT star Joaquin Wilde (aka former Impact Wrestling star DJZ) is out of action due to an injury that occurred after a “freak accident.”

Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Wilde suffered a broken eye socket back in July while he was training.

He didn’t get surgery right away because WWE wanted to see if the injury would heal on its own but it looks like he will be getting the surgery soon. The surgery would keep him out of the ring for a few more weeks.

The injury explains why he hasn’t been used at live events or on TV since June. He last wrestled at a live event in Crystal River, Florida on 6/28 where he teamed with Jordan Myles in a losing effort against Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel.

Wilde signed with WWE in March 2019 after finishing up with Impact Wrestling.
