Cameron Grimes will be the next NXT star to be called up to the WWE main roster.
This past Tuesday night on NXT, Cameron Grimes faced off against Joe Gacy in singles action but was quickly beaten by Gacy, thanks to interference from Ava Raine.
While speaking on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted there are plans to bring Grimes to the main roster following his program with Gacy. Bryan Alvarez noted it looked like WWE finished up the feud based on the finish of this match.
“Cameron Grimes is supposed to go to the main roster. I was told he’s going to finish up with Joe Gacy and then go to the main roster.”
Grimes made a surprise appearance on WWE Raw last month to get the help of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to be his tag team partners against The Schism’s Joe Gacy, Jagger Reid, and Rip Fowler in a six-man tag team match on NXT the following night.
The babyfaces went over the heel faction. Before that episode of Raw, Grimes wrestled a match against Akira Tozawa on Main Event.
Triple H has been bringing up stars from NXT and signing wrestlers who had been released by the company since taking over creative from Vince McMahon.
