Unfortunately, WWE NXT star Tegan Nox has found herself back on the sidelines.
On Wednesday, WWE confirmed that she has indeed suffered a torn ACL, but didn’t mention when she’ll be getting surgery to fix the injury.
WWE noted in the announcement, “BREAKING NEWS: Following an attack from @CandiceLeRae before the #WWENXT #BattleRoyal last week, @TeganNoxWWE_ has suffered a torn ACL.”

Nox was supposed to work a Battle Royal last week on NXT where the winner would become the new #1 contender for the NXT Women’s Title. The match was won by Candice LeRae, who will challenge Io Shirai for the championship at Sunday’s NXT TakeOver 31 event.
WWE did an angle where LeRae attacked Nox before the contest and targetted her knee. At the time, it was believed that this was done to cover Nox for having another knee injury. It appears that turned out to be true and WWE is using the attack as a storyline injury.
Back in 2017, Nox was supposed to work the Mae Young classic tournament, but before she wrestled under the WWE banner, she tore her ACL. One year later, she was able to work the tournament, but then suffered a torn ACL, MCL, lateral collateral ligament, meniscus, and patellar dislocation, which put her back on the shelf.
That type of injury usually means several months of recovery so it likely means that she won’t be cleared until 2021. We wish Nox a speedy recovery.
