NXT North American Championship
Keith Lee (Champion) vs. Dominik Dijakovic
Lee showed off his impressive athleticism early in the match with a hurricanrana. Later in the match, Dijakovic hit an impressive corkscrew moonsault and he almost got a pin out of that. After this, they hit some strong style clotheslines and chops that looked brutal. One extra hard clothesline finally took Lee down but Dijakovic was also tired and he couldn’t attempt a pin. Dijakovic then hit an avalanche Feast Your Eyes (Death Valley Driver) on Lee off the top rope but Lee kicked out of the pin attempt as fans chanted “this is awesome.” Lee fought back by hitting a pounce out of nowhere but he was too tired to go for a pin and they both rolled out to the ringside area. Lee delivered some stuff double-handed chops to Dijakovic’s chest but Dijakovic was able to fight back with a superkick and then a somersault dive off the top onto Lee, who was sitting on one of the announcer’s chairs. They got back into the ring later and moments later Lee flipped out of a chokeslam attempt and then hit the sitdown powerbomb but Dijakovic no sold it and trie da kick but Lee turned into a sitdown spirit bomb. There was a very close near fall here. They slowed down a bit as they were both tired but they were also building up towards the finish. Dijakovic hit a Spanish Fly off the top but Lee kicked out of the pin attempt. Dijakovic tried to lift up Lee but Lee dead weighted him and then hit the Big Bang Catasrpohe slam. Lee pin him to retain his title. Great match. Lee helped Dijakovic up to his feet after the match and they hugged.
Dakota Kai vs. Tegan Nox
The match started quickly as Nox was attacked by Kai during her entrance and the action spilled into the crowd. Nox speared Kai through the barricade near the ringside area and the match got officially started when they got into the ring. There was a nasty looking spot when Nox put a trash can on Kai near the steps at ringside. Nox went for a drop kick but somehow her body twisted into a senton and her back hit pretty hard on the floor. Three were tables, chairs and trash cans used in this match. At one point, Kai was suplexed onto a trash can but she was able to kick out of Nox’s pin attempt. Several minutes later, Kai used duct tape to tie Nox to the ring post and then she kicked her in the face a couple of times. The second kick broke the tape. Nox fought back by using a laptop as a weapon and then she brought a large chain into the ring. and used it across Kai’s knee. Not set up Kai on a table with a chair wrapped around her head and she was going to leap off the top but Raquel Gonzalez (formerly Reina Gonzalez) from the Mae Young Classic showed up to attack Nox and put her through a table off the top rope. Fans had no idea who Raquel was. This gave Kai the opportunity to pin Nox.
It was announced that NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin will happen on April 26.
Finn Balor vs. Johnny Gargano
It was clear that this match was going long because they started out the first few minutes at a slow pace. Lots of back and forth action and the match went from good to great as the time went by. Late in the match, Balor got out of the Gargano Escape and then he hit a double stomp but Gargano was able to lock in the Gargano Escape again but Balor made it to the bottom rope so the hold was broken. At ringside, Gargano hit a running shotgun dropkick that drove Balor into the barricade and there were some boos for Gargano and more cheers for Balor during this match. Gargano was setting up a table spot but Balor turned it around and picked up Gargano and slammed him face first into an announcer’s table. Balor ran across one table and then shotgun dropkicked Gargano off a second table. Back in the ring, Balor hit the coup de grace double stomp off the top and the 1916 DDT to get the pin on Gargano.
NXT Women’s Championship
Rhea Ripley (Champion) vs. Bianca Belair
The match was pretty good and there was one scary spot where Ripley landed awkwardly over the top rope and to the floor. Ripley won the match with the Rip Tide to successfully defend her title.
Charlotte said, “I thought about it and I’ll see you at WrestleMania.”
Charlotte then left the ring and drove Belair into the steel steps. So, it’s official…Charlotte Flair will challenge for the NXT Championship at WrestleMania.
NXT Tag Team Championship
The Undisputed Era (Champions) vs. Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne
This was a very good match. Late in the match, it looked like Dunne and Riddle were close to winning but Dunne accidentally knocked Dunne off the rope. Riddle got back in the ring and then accidentally speared Dunne. TUE almost won the match. Dunne and Riddle won the title after hitting a combination Bro to Sleep on Fish.
Adam Cole (Champion) vs. Tommaso Ciampa
This was a long match. At one point, there was a scary looking wheelbarrow spot that had Ciampa landing with his back on the edge of the announcer’s table. It looked like he protected his neck, which is obviously good news.
Several minutes later, Ciampa powerbombed Cole through the announcer’s table but the table didn’t break so he did it again and then the table broke. Back in the ring, Ciampa almost won with the Project Ciampa but Cole kicked out of the pin attempt.
Very late in the match, Cole tried the Panama Sunrise on the edge of the ring but Ciampa reversed into the Air Raid crash. Moments later, Cole was finally able to hit the Panama Sunrise on the floor at ringside but Ciampa hit a DDT out of nowhere as Cole was getting in the ring. Ciampa hit the Fairytale Ending but Cole kicked out of the pin attempt and there was a huge reaction from the crowd. Cole locked in a crossface but Ciampa reversed into his own crossface but Cole made it to the bottom rope.
Roderick Strong ran down to ringside to distract the referee while Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish attacked Ciampa. However, Ciampa was able to kick out of Cole’s pin attempt. Ciampa took out TUE at ringside. Cole tried to use the belt but Ciampa reversed, Ciampa was shoved into the referee and things got worse for Ciampa. Cole hit a low blow and he went for a move off the second rope but Ciampa hit a low blow and Fairytale Ending but the referee was knocked out at ringside so no pin attempt was possible. Johnny Gargano went to ringside and he took the belt away from Ciampa before he could use it and then nailed Ciampa with it. Cole covered Ciampa for the win.
