WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames results: live coverage

We are live with coverage of WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames. This show is part of the Survivor Series weekend in Chicago. Some of you may not see results updated right away. For those of you that can’t see the updates, click here and that should resolve the issues. This page will have results posted immediately after every match.

During the pre-show, it was announced that Mia Yim was attacked so she is not cleared to compete. No one seems to know who attacked Yim. It’s likely that she hasn’t been cleared since the ladder match from a couple of weeks ago and this is a way to write her out of tonight’s match.

NXT TakeOver: WarGames pre-show
Isaiah “Swerve” Scott vs. Angel Garza
Very good match, especially for a pre-show. Several near falls but it was Garza who win with a knee to the face and the wing clipper.

They showed Mia Yim being put into an ambulance. Rhea Ripley told Dakota Kai that she will fill in for Yim. Kai was reluctant at first but then she agreed.

NXT TakeOver: WarGames main card
Women’s WarGames Match
Rhea Ripley, Candice LeRae, Tegan Nox, and Dakota Kai vs. Shayna Baszler, Io Shirai, Bianca Belair, and Kay Lee Ray
Crazy match with weapons involved. There was a poison rana from LeRae to Kay Lee Ray. Dakota Kai never entered the match because she turned heel on Tegan Nox and Nox was not able to enter the match. Despite the odds, the babyfaces won. Io Shirai hit a moonsault off the top on Belair and LeRae and the finish was Ripley hitting the Riptide on Belair through two chairs and pinning her.. Great match.

Order of entry:
1. Io Shirai
2. Candice LeRae
3. Bianca Belair
4. Rhea Ripley
5. Kay Lee Ray
6. Dakota Kai (never entered the match)
7. Shayna Baszler
8. Tegan Nox (never entered the match because she was medically unable to)

Imperium were shown sitting ringside.

Number 1 contender match for the NXT Championship
Pete Dunne vs. Killian Dain vs. Damian Priest
This match was fantastic with tons of hard-hitting strikes. Things got wild at ringside when Priest did the Razor’s Edge on Dunne onto one of the announcer’s table and then Dain dove through the ropes on to Priset. Dain did a cannonball onto Priest and though the barricade near the announcer’s table. The finish happened when Dunne got on Dain’s back and Dain did a backsplash but he happened to land all of his weight and Dunne’s weight on Preist and Dunne got the pin to win the match. Dunne vs. Cole for the NXT Championship tomorrow night at Survivor Series.

Matt Riddle vs. Finn Bálor
Another fantastic match. There were tons of near falls. The finish was Balor hitting the 1960 DDT to pin Riddle. This was great and the entire show has been fantastic so far.

Men’s WarGames Match
The Undisputed Era vs. Tommaso Ciampa, Keith Lee, Dominik Dijakovic, and TBA
This match was crazy and things really picked up when tables were brought into the ring by Adam Cole. There was a huge pop for Kevin Owens, who was revealed as the mystery man for Ciampa’s team. This match was insane. If you missed it then you really should check it out on the WWE Network. There were table bumps and all sorts of crazy spots. At one point, all of the heels were put through tables. The final spot was Ciampa hitting the Air Raid off the top on Cole through two tables in the ring. Ciampa pinned Cole to win the match. Click here for more details on what happened during this match.

1. Tommaso Ciampa
2. Roderick Strong
3. Kyle O’Reilly
4. Dominik Dijakovic
