WWE NXT wrestlers working as “fans” are in for another long week, extra pay details

Last week, WWE taped two weeks worth of their television programs such as Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, NXT, Main Event, and 205 Live in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center.

These sets of TV tapings marked the introduction of WWE using NXT and developmental wrestlers as “fans” in attendance behind plexiglass.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select was the first to report that NXT wrestlers have been called upon to be in the audience for NXT In Your House and WWE Backlash in addition to the next sets of TV tapings.

It was noted in the report that there’s no additional pay for these appearances by talent working as fans despite standing for long periods of time during the tapings. It was added that “classes have continued for recruits, but usually digital tape study with coaches.”

Both Fightful and Wrestling Inc were able to confirm that WWE is slated to air the NXT TakeOver: In Your House special live on Sunday, June 7th, Backlash on Sunday, June 14th in addition to holding TV tapings from June 8th-June 10th.

This means that WWE will be taping post-Backlash episodes of Raw and SmackDown before the actual pay-per-view event takes place. WWE did the same thing when they taped WrestleMania 36 back in April.

WWE will be back taping television on June 22nd after these TV tapings.
