WWE passed on signing wrestler who recently joined AEW
AEW announced on Thursday that they’ve signed Jade Cargill to a multi-year contract.
This announcement came after she made her promotional debut on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite by doing a promo segment with Cody and Brandi Rhodes. During it, she teased that Shaq was coming in.
It turns out that she had a tryout with WWE in 2019, but wasn’t signed at the time.

Dave Meltzer mentioned this in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Meltzer added his own take about WWE passing on her by noting, “just based on her look and athletic ability I’m surprised WWE didn’t sign her, but they did a complete tryout and there must have been something they didn’t like.”
Before coming to AEW, she had been a fitness model and played college basketball for the University of Jacksonville.
AEW will likely follow-up on this segment involving the married couple and Cargill on next week’s episode of Dynamite although nothing has been announced featuring them just yet.
