The third match of the night for the main card of WWE Payback featured King Corbin vs. Matt Riddle. Before the match got started, Riddle was interviewed backstage and Riddle walked off angry because he was told that Corbin tweeted that Riddle is a failure at home.
The match was fine, nothing special. Late in the match, Corbin hit the Deep Six but Riddle was able to kick out of the pin attempt. Riddle managed to lock in a triangle submission but Corbin broke free. Riddle then hit the Bro to Sleep and the Floating Bro off the top rope.
The announcers actually put this over as if this was a massive upset for Riddle. Riddle was being interviewed backstage but Corbin attacked him so this feud will continue.
