WWE planning ambitious TV schedule for Raw/SmackDown and possibly WrestleMania

There is a lot of uncertainty in the country so WWE wants to make sure that they will be able to broadcast shows over the next several weeks.

Post Wrestling is reporting that WWE is looking at taping the remaining episodes of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown that lead into WrestleMania.

The tapings would include the March 23rd and March 30th episodes of Raw and the March 27th and April 3rd episodes of SmackDown. There is no word on plans for NXT.

According to one source, the expectation in the company that the taping schedule will also include both WrestleMania shows scheduled to air on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5 on the WWE Network. Another source was not sure if Mania being taped is the case so it appears that taping Mania ahead of time is not set in stone. Tapings on a closed set would likely prevent spoilers from getting out.

As previously noted, Mania will take place across two nights in multiple locations. Rob Gronkowski will be the host of the multi-night event. Gronkowski tweeted that he will be on SmackDown this Friday to provide more details. Goldberg and Roman Reigns are scheduled to appear this week on SmackDown for a contract signing segment.

WWE pulled a good rating for Raw on Monday with the Men’s Royal Rumble replay drawing the best numbers of the night. The success of that show could lead to WWE showing more archived content on Raw and SmackDown over the next several weeks so they can fill time.

As of now, all of the matches advertised for WrestleMania are scheduled but two matches that were not yet announced have been canceled. Click here for more on that story.
