WWE is reportedly planning to reduce ticket prices through the summer following months of criticism over costs that have priced out many fans, with CM Punk publicly calling for the change on Raw and top superstars privately pushing for action behind the scenes.
The issue came to a head on the April 6 edition of Monday Night Raw when Punk, in the middle of a promo directed at Pat McAfee and Ari Emanuel, turned his attention to the ticket pricing situation directly.
“You want to talk about ticket sales? Do me a favour and call up that agent that was foolish enough to shoehorn you into this business and this show and tell him to lower the ticket prices,” Punk said. “Lower the ticket prices because I want all of these families to come watch me stand on Roman Reigns’ throat at WrestleMania, because my name is CM Punk and I approve this message.”
Following Raw, Bryan Alvarez reported that it appears WWE is looking to lower ticket prices through the summer, giving the on-air moment an off-screen dimension that suggests the issue is being addressed at a corporate level. BodySlam.net added further context, with sources indicating that WWE and TKO are very aware of the social media conversation surrounding ticket prices heading into WrestleMania and that several top superstars have been actively pushing for the company to lower costs, believing that die-hard fans are being priced out and deserve the opportunity to attend shows in person.
The pricing concerns have been particularly acute around WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. When tickets first went on sale, the cheapest single-day ticket was $266 with prices reaching as high as $16,000 for second-row seats. Two-day packages started at $738 and climbed to $46,000 for the second row, though prices have since been reduced somewhat.
Despite WWE running multiple promotions to boost sales, including announcing John Cena as WrestleMania host, only the 3:16 Day sale offering 31.6 percent off tickets produced a significant uptick. As of April 3, WrestleMania 42 ticket sales were 18.8 percent behind the same point last year for WrestleMania 41, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The broader pricing issue traces back to the WWE-UFC merger, which was under TKO Group Holdings, in September 2023. Since that point, WWE’s average ticket price has doubled from approximately $52 between 2020 and 2023 to $118 in 2025.
WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, with CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns in the Night 2 main event.
