WWE planning on opening another Performance Center overseas

It looks like WWE is planning on opening another Performance Center overseas.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE wants to open up a Performance Center in Japan. The official announcement from WWE is expected within the next few months, likely during WWE’s return to Osaka and Yokohama in July, where they’ll hold live events.

WWE has also reached out to Hall of Famers Antonio Inoki and Hiroshi Hase regarding the political situation of things. Hase, a semi-retired professional wrestler, was actually named Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology by Shinzo Abe, the Japanese Prime Minister.

It wasn’t mentioned whether or not a Japanese Performance Center would include an NXT Japan program as well. However, given both Performance Centers have shows of their own – NXT’s original brand based out of Orlando and NXT UK – it’s a strong possibility.
