WWE Planning To Make A Small Change To WrestleMania Weekend

WWE usually holds WrestleMania in the last week of March or the first week of April. That could be changing following WrestleMania XL, which was a major success.

WrestleMania broke multiple records, including various metrics, such as attendance, ticket sales, merchandise sales, social media, and television viewership.

As of this writing, WWE has yet to announce the date and location of WrestleMania 41 next year. Minnesota has been considered the front-runner for months.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was recapping WWE President Nick Khan’s appearance at the World Congress of Sports convention on Wednesday. Khan noted that due to WrestleMania XL going up against the Final Four for both the men’s and women’s college basketball tournaments, they will be moving around the dates for future WrestleMania to avoid the ratings competition. This year’s tournaments drew big ratings.

“Okay, so he talked about WrestleMania next year, and basically that they did not announce WrestleMania because they have not finalized the location. But he’s talking about changing the weekend, he just doesn’t want to go against the Final Four anymore, because Saturday went against the Final Four. And then the home to show the Raw after Mania went head-to-head with the finals. And even though the show did a fantastic number, it would have done an even better number had it not gone against the final. So looks like it’s probably going to be moved up a week or so maybe, maybe more. But probably a week or so unless they also try to avoid Easter, so they could make it. I haven’t looked at the calendar for last year,” Meltzer stated.
