The big story on Monday was the ratings for WWE SmackDown on FS1 and AEW Rampage.
AEW tied WWE in the key demos and beat them in the 18-49 male demo with a 0.34 to 0.32 rating. As expected, WWE won in total viewership and the +50 demographic.
It was reported the numbers from Friday night were a hot topic backstage at Monday Night Raw. However, WWE Producer Shane Helms, also known as The Hurricane, took to Twitter to deny the report.
Now, it’s possible Helms didn’t talk to the right people or he’s just defending the company. The report didn’t state exactly who the ratings were a hot topic with whether that was just with talent, management, or staff.
As someone who was there, I didn’t hear one word spoken about it. Not a single word. 🤷🏻♂️ https://t.co/CeJecqqLSe

WWE hasn’t lost to another wrestling company since WCW in 1998 in the ratings, which is why it’s such a big deal. Also, Rampage is AEW’s secondary program and the promotion has only been around for two years compared to WWE that has been around for decades.
