WWE has posted an update on their website on Randy Orton, after word got out on Sunday night that he suffered an injury at the live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
The truth is that he is not legitimately injured. Dave Meltzer reported today that the “injury” is just part of a storyline that will play out on television.
WWE is reporting via their website that Orton sustained a leg injury and he is undergoing a medical evaluation. They said that the extent of his injuries are not known yet.
Orton was wrestling AJ Styles and went down after trying to hit the RKO. The match was stopped after the referee did the “X” gesture to get trainers into the ring.
If Orton is taking some time away from shows then that would feed into speculation that he may be brought back as a surprise entrant for the Royal Rumble and perhaps, there are bigger plans for him at WrestleMania. We’ll see if that turns out to be the case.
