WWE Raw Match Went Shorter Than Originally Planned

Monday’s episode of WWE Raw was newsworthy because it featured John Cena’s first promo since turning heel and furthered the build for WrestleMania 41.

The Cena promo segment lasted more than 30 minutes, causing some time changes throughout the show to various matches and segments.

On a recent edition of SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Q&A, WrestleVotes reported that Jey Uso vs. Austin Theory was reportedly originally planned to last 11 minutes. Instead, it ended in a quick squash. It’s unclear whether Cena going long caused such a dramatic shift in time for this bout.

“I’m just looking at a document here. This match was spaced out for 11 minutes last night. I don’t know if Cena drawing out the opening of the show affected it. I know it affected other things on the show. I can tell you it was spaced out for 11 seconds.
