John Cena is set to kick off tonight’s broadcast. This will be the 17-time world champion’s second-to-last appearance on Monday Night Raw as his retirement tour continues. Cena will be in his hometown to launch the tournament that will determine his final opponent.
‘Last Time is Now’ Tournament Begins
The 16-competitor ‘Last Time is Now’ Tournament begins tonight to determine who will face John Cena in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event next month. Two opening round matches are scheduled for tonight: Rusev will take on Damian Priest, and Sheamus will battle Shinsuke Nakamura. Both Rusev and Sheamus have history with Cena, with Rusev facing him at WrestleMania 31 and Sheamus winning his first WWE Championship from Cena at WWE TLC in 2009.
Two Major Title Matches
Two championships will be on the line in Boston. Stephanie Vaquer is set for her first defense of the Women’s World Championship as she takes on Raquel Rodriguez. Rodriguez earned the opportunity last week by pinning Vaquer in a tag team match.
Also, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, will defend their titles against The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane). The match was made after Asuka and Kairi Sane attacked the champions with mist this past Friday on SmackDown.
CM Punk to Address Logan Paul
World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is scheduled to appear live on Raw. Punk will address the situation from one week ago when Logan Paul sucker-punched him. Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch and Jey Uso are also advertised to be at the show locally.
