There is one major question on the collective minds of WWE fans coming out of Survivor Series: WarGames this past Saturday night: who was that masked man? A mysterious ally to The Vision scaled the cage to deliver a super kick and a stomp to World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, thus handing the WarGames victory to Bron Breakker. The interference allowed Breakker to cut Punk in half with a running spear and pin him in front of the 46,000 fans gathered inside San Diego’s Petco Park.
With WrestleMania season just around the corner, tonight’s episode of Raw will likely address what Saturday’s win means for The Vision moving forward. Fans are waiting to see how CM Punk bounces back from the loss and if the identity of the man dressed in all black will be revealed. While the move set might have resembled Seth Rollins, it has been confirmed that it was not him.
WWE Raw stops off in Glendale, Arizona, where the new Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio is expected to speak. Mysterio won his title back from John Cena Saturday night, thanks in large part to Liv Morgan. The former Women’s World Champion returned from injury early to hit Cena below the belt, helping Mysterio become a double champion once again.
Speaking of Cena, he now has just one appearance left in his Hall of Fame career. His final match will take place at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, and the tournament to determine his final opponent will continue tonight. The two semifinal matches will feature Gunther battling Solo Sikoa, and LA Knight taking on Jey Uso. Gunther has been the favorite since General Manager Adam Pearce pulled his name, having defeated Je’Von Evans and Carmelo Hayes. Sikoa defeated Dolph Ziggler and Penta to earn his spot. Meanwhile, Knight knocked off Zack Ryder and The Miz to reach the semifinals against Jey Uso.
In the tag team division, the World Tag Team Championships will be on the line when AJ Styles and Dragon Lee face Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston of The New Day. Kingston and Woods have been pleading for an opportunity to win their 14th career tag team titles, and they finally get their shot tonight. Additionally, fresh off her victory over Nikki Bella, Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer is expected to be on the show. Becky Lynch is also expected to appear, likely in a foul mood after referee Jessika Carr falsely claimed she tapped out in the Women’s WarGames match on Saturday.
