It turns out that former NXT Champion Aleister Black is dealing with an injury that is keeping him out of action.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Black is currently out of action with a knee injury that was described as a tweak.
WWE is slowly building up Black on television by mostly giving him promo time with backstage segments where he gives cryptic comments and wants someone to fight him.
Black started to work more on television last month before going down with an injury. On Raw, he worked a Two On One Handicap Match on October 7th then squashed Eric Young on October 14th and Jason Reynolds on October 21st.
Black made his Raw debut in February by taking on Elias in a singles match. It turns out that the highly touted prospect wasn’t originally supposed to be called up from NXT at the time.
This was after Triple H announced how four NXT talents will make their main roster TV debuts. Those talents were Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Black, and Ricochet.
