WWE Raw Star Is On A Losing Streak And A Heel Turn May Be Coming

WWE star Lyra Valkyria sustained another pinfall loss during the March 9 episode of Monday Night Raw, continuing a recent trend of defeats for the former champion. Valkyria competed in a multi-woman gauntlet match designed to determine the number one contender for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. During the contest, Valkyria was eliminated via pinfall by Damage CTRL member and WWE star IYO SKY.

Ultimately, Bayley won the gauntlet match. As a result of this victory, Bayley is now scheduled to challenge current champion AJ Lee for the Intercontinental Championship on next week’s broadcast.

During the gauntlet match on Raw, Michael Cole explicitly pointed out Valkyria’s ongoing losing streak. If you watch enough WWE, the comments by Cole are likely a tease for something bigger happening with Valkyria.

This on-screen acknowledgment aligns with recent reports regarding a potential creative shift for Valkyria. Last month, Bodyslam.net reported that internal discussions had taken place regarding a character makeover for Valkyria. According to the report, the proposed creative direction would see Valkyria transition into a more aggressive persona, stemming from frustrations over her and Bayley being consistently “overlooked” within the division.

Since losing her championships and her alliance with Lynch, Valkyria has struggled to maintain her position in the win column. Her recent string of losses, including a high-profile singles defeat to a returning Liv Morgan earlier this year, has further established the narrative of her decline. With Michael Cole bringing attention to the losses and reports indicating an impending character makeover, Valkyria appears positioned for a major storyline development in the near future. Also, as seen below, Valkyria did not seem too happy when Bayley was talking about her title shot against AJ Lee next week.
