WWE Raw Star Sheamus Is Getting Shoulder Surgery

WWE Superstar Sheamus is undergoing shoulder surgery following his recent removal from television due to injury.

The news was confirmed on Tuesday by his wife, Isabella Revilla-Farrelly, through a post on Instagram. She shared a video of the couple arriving at the Birmingham Surgery Center in Birmingham, Alabama, a facility frequently used by WWE talent for orthopedic procedures.

In her caption, Revilla-Farrelly maintained a sense of humor regarding the situation, contrasting the medical trip with their recent European travels.

“When I told my husband I wanted to go on one last trip before the end of the year, this is NOT what I meant,” she wrote. “From the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the Trevi Fountain in Rome to La Sagrada Família in Barcelona to… the Birmingham Surgery Center in Alabama — I’m honestly just happy to travel with him.”

Timeline of Absence

The surgery explains the abrupt disappearance of “The Celtic Warrior” from WWE programming. Sheamus last competed on the November 17, 2025, episode of Monday Night Raw. In that match, he teamed with John Cena—in Cena’s final Raw appearance—and Rey Mysterio to defeat The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Bálor, and JD McDonagh).

Sheamus had previously advanced in “The Last Time Is Now” tournament by defeating Shinsuke Nakamura in the first round on November 10. However, following the tag team match the next week, he was removed from the tournament bracket due to the shoulder injury and replaced.

Age and Injury History

At 47 years old, Sheamus has performed at a high level on the main roster since 2009. His physical, hard-hitting style has resulted in significant wear and tear over his 16-year WWE career.

This procedure marks another chapter in his history with upper-body injuries:

2013: Sheamus suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder that required surgery, sidelining him for several months.

2017: He revealed that he suffers from spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the spinal canal in the neck, which he has managed for years to continue wrestling.

2023: He suffered a shoulder injury in September 2023 that kept him out of action until April 2024.

No specific timeline has been provided regarding his recovery or a potential return date to the ring. We wish him the best for a full recovery.
