WWE Raw viewership (10/7/19) drops for post-Hell in a Cell episode

WWE got some good and bad news with the Monday Night Raw viewership number.

This week’s episode dropped to 2.33 million viewers. That is down 9.2% from last week’s “season premiere” episode that had more hype than most episodes of Raw.

The bad news is the 9.2% drop from last week’s 2.571 million viewers but that was expected since last week’s show was promoted so much. The good news is that this week’s viewership could have been lower, considering that they were up against Monday Night Football and the American League Divison Series game between the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins.

Last week’s number got a heavy boost from the return of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair to set up a 5 vs. 5 match at Crown Jewel with Hogan and Flair serving as the team captains. Next week’s episode should get a boost from the draft. The draft begins this Friday night on SmackDown and will continue into Raw on Monday. WWE is billing the draft as USA and FOX wanting the best stars for their network.

Here is the hourly viewership breakdown for this week’s show:

Hour 1 – 2.44 million viewers
Hour 2 – 2.33 million viewers
Hour 3 – 2.23 million viewers

As you can see above, the viewership dropped as the show went on but the percentage drops from hour to hour were not as much as most weeks.
