WWE Raw will face stronger competition than usual next week

WWE is looking to continue the momentum that it has following Survivor Series and the returns of Randy Orton and CM Punk.

Recent success

Last week’s episode of Raw drew an average of 1.884 million viewers, and the 18-49 demo saw an average rating of 0.65 on the USA Network, up from the 1.459 million viewers and the 18-49 demo’s 0.49 rating last week. It was the highest key demo rating since the Raw after WrestleMania 39 show. It featured the first promo that Punk did since returning.

WWE is loading up tonight’s Raw with several big matches, including WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins vs. Jey Uso, Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes addressing Shinsuke Nakamura, DIY (Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano) vs. Imperium (Giovanni Vince & Ludwig Kaiser) in a Two-Out-Of-Three Falls match, and more.

The competition

Front Office Sports reported today that on Monday, December 11, ESPN is slated to broadcast two NFL Monday Night games simultaneously for the first time, with games featuring Titans vs. Dolphins and Packers vs. Giants airing on ESPN and ESPN2 at the same time.

This will give Raw tougher competition than usual, as the NFL is a ratings beast and takes a large chunk of Raw’s ratings every week. With two games, it will take a bigger chunk than usual.
