WWE Referee Calls Out Becky Lynch

A social media post from WWE official Jessika Carr has captured the attention of fans, as she appeared to take direct aim at Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch. In a tweet that continues an ongoing storyline, Carr criticized the champion’s recent in-ring conduct without mentioning her by name. The post has led to increased speculation about a potential confrontation between the referee and the wrestler.

Carr wrote, “I don’t say a lot or stir up issues….but it’s wild that someone keeps talking about me….when all they’ve been doing is tapping out, getting counted out, and taking the easy way out by getting disqualified. But I’m the problem?” This statement directly references Lynch’s recent match history.

The Matches in Question

The “getting disqualified” portion of the tweet refers to Lynch’s most recent title defense on the October 20, 2025, episode of Monday Night Raw. In that match, Lynch lost to challenger Maxxine Dupri via disqualification when she intentionally struck Dupri with the title belt directly in front of Carr, who was officiating the bout. While Dupri won the match, Lynch retained her championship as titles typically do not change hands on a disqualification.

The “getting counted out” comment points to the previous encounter between Lynch and Dupri on the October 6, 2025, edition of Raw. In that non-title match, Dupri scored a major upset victory via count-out. Lynch was showboating on the announce desk and failed to re-enter the ring before referee Carr completed the 10-count. Following that loss, Lynch was reportedly irate and complained about a “fast count” from Carr.

‘Tapping Out’ and the ‘Bee’ Incident

The most specific reference, “tapping out,” relates to Lynch’s recent storyline claim that she has not legitimately tapped out in years. At the WWE Wrestlepalooza event on September 20, 2025, Lynch submitted to AJ Lee’s “Black Widow” submission in a mixed tag team match.

In the weeks following, Lynch has repeatedly made the “wild claim” that she was not tapping out but was instead “swatting away a rogue bee” that had entered the ring. As part of this storyline, Lynch has also posted a photo of Jessika Carr with CM Punk, AJ Lee’s husband, insinuating potential favoritism or a conspiracy against her. This context explains why Carr would include “tapping out” in her criticism of the champion.

Carr’s In-Ring Background

The tweet has ignited speculation among fans about a potential in-ring encounter between Carr and Lynch, in part because Carr is an experienced former wrestler. Before signing with WWE in 2017 to become the company’s first full-time female referee, Carr wrestled for years on the independent circuit under the names Kennadi Brink and Jessie Kaye.

She was trained at the Team 3D Academy and Duane Gill’s Academy of Professional Wrestling. During her in-ring career from 2011 to 2017, she competed for promotions like Ring of Honor (ROH) and won titles such as the ECWA Women’s Championship. Carr has also wrestled within the WWE system under the name Kalyx for the Evolve brand. This background provides a logical foundation for her to potentially step back into the ring as a competitor.
