Longtime WWE referee Charles Robinson has taken to social media to shut down a false and malicious rumor that he had passed away, confirming to fans that he is “alive and well.”
Charles Robinson Debunks Death Hoax
A fake “in memory” graphic began circulating on Facebook, claiming that the beloved referee, known as “Lil’ Naitch,” had died and that WWE had confirmed the news. Robinson responded directly on his Instagram account, calling out those who spread the false information.
“I am alive and well. Some people are just stinky nasty old butt holes that spread lies. Do not believe anything you read on the Internet. Have a great week.#NOTDEAD,” he wrote.
A Respected WWE Referee
Charles Robinson has been a senior official in WWE for many years, refereeing some of the biggest matches in the company’s history. He was recently part of a major angle at the Saturday Night’s Main Event special in July, where he suffered a broken rib after being accidentally speared by Goldberg during his retirement match against GUNTHER.
Unfortunately, death hoaxes are not an uncommon occurrence in the world of professional wrestling, with numerous legends and active stars having to publicly debunk false reports of their passing over the years. Robinson’s direct and humorous response is the latest example of a wrestling personality having to combat this type of harmful misinformation on social media.
