WWE reportedly changes their plans involving Sting at SummerSlam

While Sting was reported to appear at SummerSlam next month, WWE has changed their plans and will not have him appear at the pay-per-view event. Dave Meltzer noted on the Wrestling Observer website that Sting, at one point, was told that he would be part of SummerSlam and then was later told that he would not be part of the show. Meltzer also noted that the commercial department had made commercials that included Sting but those had to be redone since Vince McMahon changed his mind.

He was reportedly scheduled to team up with either Dean Ambrose or Roman Reigns or both to take on the Wyatt Family.

Sting is still scheduled for an autograph signing during SummerSlam weekend.
