NXT India is set to start filming next month. Plans can still change but as of now, Pollock reports that the plan is for an eight-man single-elimination tournament for the series launch.
WWE has been working hard on their expansion in India, which is why Jinder Mahal was given a main event push and crowned as the WWE Champion a few years ago. They currently have a deal with Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited.
The NXT India show will air on linear TV in the region and on the WWE Network. It will be interesting to see who is brought in to help launch the brand. The Great Khali is a major celebrity in India and he runs a wrestling school there.
