WWE reportedly plans on holding NXT live events in bigger venues on main roster PPV weekends

WWE plans to run the former ECW Arena in Philadelphia in the future. This is not new news, right? Well, apparently there was some discussion that this would not actually be happening. Sources say that WWE had some concerns about the venue, and have decided not to go on with their plans.

Instead, the NXT brand will be going away from the smaller venues and go with the bigger ones. WWE plans on holding more NXT live events on Saturday nights in the markets that WWE has a pay-per-view in the next day.

As of now, WWE plans on holding an NXT live event on August 22nd in New York the Saturday night before SummerSlam at the Philadelphia’s Liacouris Center at Temple University, which holds 10,000.

It should be noted that the NXT live event in Tampa, FL last night was trending worldwide.
