WWE is going to be restructuring the WWE Diva Search format, according to the Wrestling Observer newsletter. The original idea was to format the show similar to Tough Enough but the feeling is that the structure of Tough Enough with the live format is not working out well. It should be noted that the ratings for this season are much lower than the ratings for the 2011 season that was hosted by Steve Austin so I can’t see USA deciding to renew Tough Enough for another season.
Anyway, the new Diva Search will take place later this year on the WWE Network. It will be interesting to see what they look for. In the past they mainly looked for bikini models. Since they seem to be putting more emphasis on the “Diva Revolution” with longer matches, it will be nice if they could bring in women with athletic backgrounds.
The press release sent out earlier this year by WWE said that they would be searching for women that are “beautiful, athletic and charismatic.” The last Diva Search took place in 2007 and Eve Torres won that year.
