WWE’s plans for WrestleMania 42 in 2026 have undergone a significant alteration, as the event will no longer take place in New Orleans, despite a February 2025 announcement. WrestleNomics initially reported this news, with PWInsider.com adding that WWE currently has no official replacement location listed internally for its annual flagship show.
NOLA.com reported on May 22, 2025, adding a new dimension to the developing story that Las Vegas might now be the preferred new host for WrestleMania 42. An unnamed “industry official” told the outlet, “After the success of this year’s event, the new leadership running WWE decided that they would rather hold next year’s event in Las Vegas and see what response they get from fans…”
However, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted that this claim regarding Las Vegas has not been independently confirmed. PWInsider had previously stated that there is a growing belief within some WWE circles that WrestleMania 42 might instead head to an international destination. WWE has not yet made any official announcements regarding a new location for its 2026 spectacular.
Shortly before 3, someone who used to be tied to WWE said they heard this as well. https://t.co/0yioqSgq5L
