The SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Asuka and Becky Lynch kicked off the main card for this year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
This was a good opener. The entrances were unique because they couldn’t use big screens since the entrances were from the team dugout. They used CGI graphics and the back of the stadium was filled behind the wrestlers so the atmosphere felt different than most pay-per-views.
There were several close falls towards the end of the match including a very close one after Lynch hit a Super Bexploder off the top rope on Asuka. Lynch tapped out after the Asuka lock that turned into a bridge. Very good match.
