The 2027 Royal Rumble will take place in Arizona in February, bringing WWE’s first major event of the year back to the United States.
The announcement came at a press conference held as part of TKO’s partnership with the Arizona Sports and Events Alliance, with UFC CEO Dana White confirming it.
“In February 2027, WWE will bring one of its biggest annual events to Arizona, the Royal Rumble. I can tell you this: WWE has a very passionate global fanbase, and we’re looking forward to bringing that buzz and economic impact here to Arizona.”
No venue has been named. Arizona has two obvious candidates in State Farm Stadium in Glendale, which hosted WrestleMania XXVI in 2010, and Chase Field in Phoenix, which held the 2019 Royal Rumble. WWE has not said which, or whether it will be either.
The date is a change in itself. The 2026 Royal Rumble was held in Saudi Arabia in January, part of WWE’s push to stage its premium live events internationally. A February date in 2027 moves the show later in the calendar as well as back to American soil.
This is the first of the WWE events under the Arizona agreement to be pinned down. TKO announced the partnership in May, covering seven events across three years and spanning WWE, UFC, Professional Bull Riders and Zuffa Boxing. Bryan Alvarez reported at the time that the three WWE dates in the deal were a Survivor Series, a Royal Rumble and a Saturday Night’s Main Event.
It will be the first Royal Rumble in the state since 2019, when Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins won the men’s and women’s matches at Chase Field.
WWE’s announced premium live event schedule currently runs only as far as Money in the Bank on September 6 in New Orleans. No location has been confirmed for this year’s Survivor Series, which is also part of the Arizona agreement.
