WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn took place at the WWE Royal Rumble on January 31, 2026 from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Drew started off the match in control while the fans were really behind Sami. Sami fired back and hit an outside dive then a sunset flip powerbomb. Drew hit three future shock DDT’s to Sami for 2. Drew with a series of clotheslines before Sami almost hit a big boot, but Drew avoided and hit the claymore kick for 2. Sami with the big boot for 2. They brawled to the floor and Drew hit a powerbomb to Sami through the announce table. Drew was yelling to stay down and he didn’t have what it takes. Sami with an exploader, but out of nowhere, Drew hit the claymore kick then a second one for the win.
Winner: Drew McIntyre
