Penta retained the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Ethan Page at Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday night, delivering a springboard Mexican Destroyer to close out a physical match at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Page threw Penta onto the announce desk with a back body drop and deliberately exposed multiple turnbuckle pads during the match. He landed a Confidence Breaker that Penta kicked out of, then went to the top rope and used the mask to drag Penta up for an avalanche Powerslam. Penta kicked out of that as well. An Egoplex attempt was countered with a Penta Driver. Page eventually ran into one of his own exposed turnbuckles and Penta followed with the springboard Mexican Destroyer for the win. Penta won the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio on the March 2 episode of Raw and has now made seven successful defenses in under 90 days.
In the six-woman tag team match that opened the show, Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab defeated Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss. Ripley and Cargill had an early preview exchange with Ripley landing a Rip Tide, but Michin broke up the pin. Later, Ripley and Flair put aside their differences, shook hands, and embraced alongside Bliss after planting Michin and B-Fab. Cargill immediately shoved Ripley into her own partners, then hit a superkick and Jaded to pin the Women’s Champion for the second consecutive night.
Becky Lynch and Sol Ruca met in what was billed as a Women’s Intercontinental Championship match. Lynch dragged referee Jessika Carr directly into the path of the Sol Snatcher and was disqualified. Lynch then attacked Ruca after the bell. The result sets up a Women’s Intercontinental Championship match between the two at Clash in Italy next Sunday.
Paige and Brie Bella retained the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in their rematch against the Irresistible Forces, Lash Legend and Nia Jax. Scream Mode successfully defended the titles they won from the Irresistible Forces in a Fatal Four-Way match at WrestleMania 42.
The Vision retained the WWE World Tag Team Championships against the Street Profits in a match that ended with Logan Paul delivering an undetected brass knuckles shot to Montez Ford on the outside. Ford returned to the ring and was pinned by Austin Theory. Bron Breakker then appeared and speared the Profits after the match.
The show drew an announced attendance of 10,714 and marked the first WWE television event in Fort Wayne since 2014.
