The advertised Nia Jax vs. Dean Ambrose match is not happening, according to a statement from WWE.
On Friday, a Facebook ad for the match appeared online and it hyped the match for a live event in Jonesboro, Arkansas on February 22.
Post Wrestling reported that a WWE source told them the ad was “outdated” and the match will not be taking place.
It looks like Ambrose is being booked to lose on the way out before he finishes up with the company in April because he lost to EC3 at this weekend’s live events. The feud with Jax was teased on the post-Royal Rumble episode of Raw and it looked like it would set up a future match between them.
A match with Jax would likely have meant that Ambrose would be booked to lose but, at this point, it doesn’t look like there are plans for that match or whatever they had planned was scrapped for some reason.
